The Art Experience: From Old Westbury To NYC
So Here you have it my love for art goes further than pieces of cloth and 808's. Once a visual art major back in the days (lol) about a couple a months ago I was bombarded with random projects form unusual art professors at Old Westbury. Funny situation; I would always excel when it came to hands on projects but never made it to class on time, just one of my habits if you know me on a personal level.
Sean Carter + Brooklyn + Train Yard + Net's = Love
The first piece is entitled "BK Love”, one of my favorites it represent my hometown Brooklyn New York. If you look closely you can see the Atlantic Avenue Train Yard; which is a major monument in Brooklyn NY. For this project I was asked to make the connection between a word and a place so I choose Love and Brooklyn. The train yard comes into play when you look at one of my favorite artist Sean Carter. As far as I know Mr. Carter along with major investors, has or had plans in turning the yard and its surrounding area into a stadium for New Jersey Nets, which would be called The Brooklyn Nets. I feel his actions to bring a sports team is just a blatant representation of his love for Brooklyn; hence, the reason for naming the piece "BK Love"

NYC: The Day The Sky Opened Up For My Worst Enemy

The Snow, Falling from the sky with no direction at hand it turns your city into a beautiful landscape aka a "Winter Wonderland". Creating a one of a kind piece the snow paints everything open to its elements in white. Untouched and forbidden by the upset parent the snow now lays still forming a layer over the objects once visible to the naked eye.
Joshua, Street Etiquette: "Even as a little kid?" (He questioned). As a child I remember cold winter days of playing in the snow on the streets of Brooklyn New York. With friends and family at my side, and without a care in the world; Creating snow angles and throwing snow balls until your fingers stop moving was not only a must but was something I enjoyed and loved the most. Now a thing of the past, I look back and wonder why I dislike this beauty I once loved.
There’s a strong possibility that one can grow out of love, I think my dislike for snow all started in middle school at M.S 113. Growing up isn't an easy task, especially in a fashion central like New York City. Do you remember the days of waiting on line at 5 in the am for those new pair of Jordan’s or air max 95's? Well I do, before 6th sixth I wasn't really exposed to the latest hypes on the street it was basically what I got I wore. Finally in 7th grade was when I started to own my sense of style.
With the chance to create my own outfits and purchase the footwear of my liking I slowly began to work on the image you see today. In those days every time you got a new pair of footwear you needed that one outfit that would make you the coolest guy for the day. Waking up extra early to get ready, your outfit is already set out ironed and ready to go. Without a care in the world you start to get prepared for this special day; little do you know there’s something special waiting for you, sent from the kind ones above. Continuing Soon...

Ever been to an event where it's you and a crowd of people you don't feel like mixing with. With no friends around you decided to sit by yourself, somewhere off to the side where you can't be seen or in my case the middle of the long sofa next to the runway! Smart Right? Not trying to be mysterious at all, you end up drawing random attention to yourself :/ <<<, then all of a sudden a brave heart decides to approach you in a friendly manner and you guy’s become friends. “Thee End” Now, about the Fashion show all I can say is great job ladies, especial the second designer; the use of massive amounts of fabrics and the styling was great. Up and coming designers like my self I’m looking forward to see these two ladies on top.
